Whenever you can put your body in an extreme position, oftentimes it will react positively to it. It will make itself better so it can withstand that position the next time. I cringe when people say “Don’t go outside you will catch a cold!”

When in reality it will help boost your immune system so you don’t catch a cold.

Let’s take a look at lifting weights. What you are doing is tearing your muscles. Your body in response will think “Oh well that’s no good” and it will build more muscle in hopes of preventing it the next time. Making yourself better.

The same goes for extreme temperature. There have been so many studies put out that show the benefits of cold and hot weather.

Using a sauna is one of the best things you can do. It can help reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and even prolong health. On top of that, it can also activate heat shock proteins that can help build muscle. If your gym has sauna we highly recommend you use it. Try at least 2-3 times a week for 20-30 minutes.

Extreme cold has it’s benefits too. Taking a cold shower every day has been proven to increase skin health and increase testosterone. Sure it isn’t so fun to do but the benefits are amazing. Another thing people like to do is ice baths. However, these are a bit annoying to setup. A cold shower is just as good.

In general, try putting yourself in extreme positions. Your body will thank you!
